Response Technologies' new gunshot detection sensor adds another layer of safety for facilities

CINCINNATI, OH – February 12, 2019 – Seconds matter in an emergency response – and especially in an active shooter event, where protecting the lives of every individual is paramount. That's why Response Technologies, the company known for delivering the fastest Direct-to-Responder (D2R®) emergency notification system on the market, has added a gunshot detection capability to its robust suite of solutions. With the addition of the gunshot detection sensor, capable of instantly identifying when and precisely where a gunshot occurs within a facility, the Centurion Elite® immediately provides D2R® notification within seconds to help end an active shooter situation.

This new gunshot detection sensor works with Response Technologies' market-leading Centurion Elite® platform allowing for notifications to be sent via two-way radio, email, text, phone, or PCAlert® computer software. The gunshot detection sensor, powered by Shot Tracer® technology, uses patented two-factor authentication to ensure that only true emergency events are reported to responders. With backup battery capability, along with transmitting alarms over a standalone 900Mhz wireless network, the solution is one of the only self-contained gunshot detection solutions on the market. This allows the system to continue to protect throughout network and power outages.

"The addition of our new Gunshot Detection Sensor adds another layer of protection within our total solution portfolio. This layered system of protection incorporates reliable tools that can not only assist in emergencies but can also help prevent emergency situations or threats from escalating." said Andy Morrison, President of Response Technologies.

The new gunshot detection sensor is available now for preorder with an anticipated installation of May 1st. For more information on the gunshot detection sensor, or to setup a webinar demonstration, click here.
